Local Natives has a sound that fits from the first tune. Probably, because it has a familiar sound that we could label and put into a box of “Sounds from 2009”
Fleet Foxes, Grizzly Bear, Vampire Weekend, Noah and the Whale and to some degree the Danish band Efterklang had already been spinning on my iPod for some time, so when Local Natives came along it was like a tape that kept rolling.
That said, I still love the music and the genre and the “Sounds of 2009” and I admit, unwillingly, that I should have been on their show 31st January, instead of David Gray’s, because David Gray, to me, is in a box of “Sounds from 2005”.
