I picture these songs as velvety grains of sand upon which the Beach House stands. Where Victoria Legrand’s stories of love-struck longing whispers in the wind and Alex Scally’s guitar merges with the flow of the ocean, leaving me completely cast off shore and swept away. It has that “high-air” feel, much like Fleet Foxes and Grizzly Bear – but with a much warmer breeze.
I have a feeling my love affair with this album will last long after summer is gone.
